Dr. Valerie Andersen is our Clinical Director having joined the CR family in August of 2018. Dr. Andersen’s background is incredibly expansive – she holds a Master of Science and Doctorate of Psychology from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale. Apart from being a Licensed Psychologist (Psy.D.), Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC), and a Certified Daring Way Facilitator (CDWF) and certified in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), Dr. Andersen specializes in shame resilience, dual diagnosis, family of origin and family dynamic issues, and positive psychology. Dr. A is trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), The Daring Way/Rising Strong (shame resilience) and with her philosophical roots stemming from positive psychology she emphasizes an individual’s unique strengths. Dr. Valerie Andersen helps others identify and build upon their unique set of strengths naturally, and in doing so she can foster patients of recovery to flourish in our program and eventually long-term recovery. We are proud to have Dr. Valerie Andersen as one of our own as she is a great asset to our team. Apart from her extensive background, Dr. Andersen uses her strengths of curiosity, perspective and kindness to build a trusting relationship with each individual, learn their history, and help empower them to achieve a healthy and gratifying life.
